Every football club surely has that one player that they regret signing.

Nottingham Forest certainly have a number of players who've been signed, but have simply failed to impress at the City Ground.

In the last five years, who has been the worst Forest signing?

We take a look....

George Dagless

Nicolao Dumitru.

Signed on loan by Forest last season, it quickly became apparent that Dumitru was not going to be the kind of player to get Forest fans excited.

He may just a handful of appearances during his year at the City Ground as he found it hard to adapt and, unsurprisingly, he was let go come the end of the campaign.

Not the Oliver Burke replacement Forest would have wanted.

Chris Gallagher

I'd go for Lars Veldwijk.

The big striker was scoring goals for fun in the Dutch second tier which had generated interest from many clubs. However, Forest won the race to get him and they no doubt regret it.

Veldwijk cost the Reds up to £1m but couldn't settle in the Championship. His Forest career finished with 12 league games and zero goals. They ended up cancelling his contract so he could join KV Kortrijk on a free.

Alfie Burns

There have been a few that haven’t been good enough in recent years, but I will focus on a high-profile arrival that seriously flopped last season – Ross McCormack.

McCormack’s spell on-loan from Aston Villa last season was an absolute disaster. The striker arrived on huge wages, but was disappointing during his time at the City Ground.

The striker made seven appearances and scored one goal, what a waste of money his wages proved to be.
