Carlisle United have recently announced that they have sacked manager Steven Pressley after a poor start to this year's campaign in League Two.

The Blues are currently sat 19th in the fourth tier standings, and this announcement might not come as a surprise to some of the club's supporters.

In a statement on the club's official website, Chairman Andrew Jenkins insisted that they haven't seen enough progress since Pressley took charge in January 2019.

"We understand the challenges and have supported him throughout, but we haven’t seen the evidence of progress we expected or needed to see.

"This is not something we can allow to continue, so sadly it is time to change, move on and look forward."

Carlisle will now get their search underway to find a new manager that can take them up the League Two table at the earliest of opportunities this season.

Plenty of the club's supporters took to Twitter following the announcement of Pressley's departure.
