Bournemouth defender Steve Cook is reportedly set to have his Nottingham Forest medical in the next 48 hours, which has drawn an excited response from many fans of the East Midlands club.

Cook has made nearly 400 appearances for the Cherries in a decade at the Vitality Stadium but has fallen down the pecking order under Scott Parker this season and now seems set to leave.

Newcastle United, QPR, and Watford were all linked previously but it appears the 30-year-old is set to become Steve Cooper's second signing of the January window and of his tenure as a whole.

Keinan Davis joined on loan from Aston Villa on the first of the month and, as per John Percy from The Telegraph, Cook is set to have a medical at the City Ground in the next 48 hours.

The defender will reportedly join on a permanent deal from Bournemouth while talkSPORT's Alex Crook has revealed he will sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Reds.

There have been differing reports over the cost of the deal, with some suggesting it will be a free transfer and others indicating it will be a minimal fee.

This latest update has caused an excited response among Forest supporters, with many taking to Twitter to share their thoughts...
