It is five years to the day since Bristol City hammered Bradford City 6-0 to seal promotion back to the Championship, which has excited many fans of the South West club.

Steve Cotterill’s side produced a dazzling display at Valley Parade to secure their return to the second tier of English football with three games still to go in the season.

The Robins would go on to win the rarely-seen lower league double that year – claiming both the League One title and the EFL Trophy.

Their highest finish in the top division of English football is second

James Tavernier, Joe Bryan, Luke Aying, Aden Flint and Aaron Wilbraham all found the net for the BS3 outfit as they ran riot against Bradford.

Amazingly, they produced an even higher-scoring display a few weeks later as they beat Walsall 8-2 on the final day of the season.

That season has proven a foundation for the club to build on and the Robins have improved their league position in every campaign since.

On the fifth anniversary of the game, City have taken to Twitter to post highlights of the game.

The footage has been well-received by fans of the South West club, with many taking to Twitter to express their excitement.
