Leeds United have previously been linked with a move for Brentford midfielder, Romaine Sawyers according to Football Insider.

Marcelo Bielsa could be tempted to add to his depth in midfield, amid rumours that Kalvin Phillips could leave the club with Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur interested in signing him.

But The Mirror's David Anderson has revealed that Leeds aren't currently interested in signing the 27-year-old, who only has one year remaining on his current deal with the Bees.

The Elland Road faithful will surely be disappointed by this latest update, as Sawyers could have challenged for a starting spot in Marcelo Bielsa's squad.

It remains to be seen as to whether the Leeds boss will be given funds to make new signings before the transfer window closes, as the Whites look to challenge for a long-awaited promotion to the Premier League.

Plenty of Leeds supporters took to social media to react to this important update from Anderson.
