Blackpool lost their first match of pre-season last night, going down 1-0 to Scottish Championship side Dundee.

Former Sunderland striker Andrew Nelson bagged the only goal of the game in what was the first match in charge for new manager Simon Grayson. He's left the Tangerines in 2008 to take over at Leeds United but returned last week after Terry McPhillips stood down.

It was an early chance for Grayson to get a look at his squad, as well as run an eye over a host of trialists hoping to secure a contract with the promotion hopefuls.

Blackpool finished in a respectable tenth place last season, despite the ongoing troubles off the field. Former owner Owen Oyston has now left the club and Simon Sadler, a lifelong supporter, has taken over. That's brought belief of a brighter future ahead for the one-time Premier League side.

However, last night's defeat has brought some rumblings of discontent, although the more sensible supporters seem to understand pre-season results matter little, and it's only when the EFL season kicks off that people should get worried or excited.

Here is a selection of responses to their narrow defeat.
