Most Wolverhampton Wanderers fans wouldn't have known much about defender Barry Douglas last season.

When Santo secured a deal for the defender in the summer, many fans would not have known what to expect from the 27-year-old.

But it's fair to say the left-back has proved a revelation for the Black Country outfit, and the Scotsman is now a key cog in Santo's starting eleven.

Is he the bargain of the season?

We discuss....

George Dagless

He's definitely up there.

Not only do we forget Douglas because his fee wasn't big but we also see him forgotten because of the wealth of talent Wolves have across their team.

He's proven a vital cog this year, though, and is deserving of as much praise as anyone else.

Chris Gallagher

100 per cent - what a signing!

His delivery is perfect and he defends well too. The wing-back role suits him and for £1m Douglas has been a steal.

The big name players are grabbing the headlines, and deservedly so at times, but Douglas has had a fine season and is a real bargain.

Adam Simeoni

He's got to be up there. How did nobody know about this Scottish chap playing in Turkey before?!

He's done wonderfully since returning to the UK, and looks good enough for the top flight.

Alfie Burns

He’s gone under the radar, there are no doubts about that, but what a buy Douglas has turned out to be for Wolves.

Diogo Jota and Ruben Neves rightly stole the headlines over the summer, but Douglas is proving to be every bit as important at left wing-back.

Douglas has one of the deadliest deliveries in the Championship, and is proving to be a bargain.

What a steal!
