Millwall could be set to poach Karlan Grant from near-neighbours Charlton Athletic before the January transfer window closes in 11 days.

Alan Nixon, of The Sun, reported on Twitter that the Millwall are hovering around the player hoping to coax him from one part of south London to another.

If Neil Harris is to snap up the player scoring regularly for the League One side four miles down the road, then he will have to beat of increasing competition for the 21-year-old.

Nixon reports that the Lions’ Championship rivals Brentford are keen on his services, as well as Huddersfield Town being keen on adding to their side to stave off the real threat of relegation back to the second-tier.

Grant has been in spectacular form for the Addicks this term, scoring 14 goals and registering five assists in 27 League One appearances.

And his goal-scoring exploits and individual form has seen interest in him rise with clubs higher up the footballing pyramid starting to circle The Valley.

If Millwall were to see off stiff competition for the signature of the Charlton academy product, would he be a good signing for them?

We put that exact question to our team of FLW writers to get their opinion on the potential move.

Here’s what they had to say on the matter.

Gary Hutchinson

“Karlan Grant will be a great signing for a lower half Championship club.

“He’s quick and strong with a good eye for goal.

“There’s also the disarray at Charlton to consider. He might be picked up for a good price.

“This would be sound business indeed.”

Chris Gallagher

“What a signing this'd be.

“He is scoring goals for fun in League One and seems as though he is ready to make the step up.

“Neil Harris needs another striker, and Grant would give them a different option in the final third.”

George Harbey

“Grant could be the signing that steers Millwall well away from the drop zone.

“He has been a real threat at League One level this season and has contributed to plenty of goals for Charlton.

“He can play either out wide or up top, so it will be interesting to see where he fits in at The Den.”
