Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa could be interested in the news, that Newcastle United may be willing to part company with defender Ciaran Clark, according to a report in The Chronicle.

Clark, 29, could be deemed surplus to requirements in the north-east if Florian Lejeune returns from injury and is fit to play in 2019.

With this latest news, it could prompt Victor Orta and co to potentially consider a January swoop, with the centre-back situation proving to be a real dilemma for Bielsa's side this season.

Should Leeds make a move for Clark in January?

We discuss.....

George Dagless

Yes.

He's a good defender and certainly brings plenty to a Championship side.

Leeds need a new centre-half so it makes a lot of sense.

Jay Taylor

With Pontus Jansson and Gaetano Berardi picking up injuries this season and usually around the same time, this could be a clever bit of business from Leeds.

Ciaran Clark is a solid Premier League defender and would be competent in the Championship.

He would fit in at Elland Road no problem and it’s certainly a move Marcelo Bielsa should heavily consider.

Sam Rourke

What a signing this'd be.

Clark what be a fantastic signing for the Whites, and he has both Premier League and Championship experience under his belt, making him a shrewd signing.

Jansson and Clark together as a centre-back partnership would be one of the best in the league, and ultimately could provide the base to aid Leeds' promotion push.
