Nick Powell has been linked with a move to Scottish giants Celtic, with them becoming the latest in a long line of clubs coveting the former Manchester United man.

He's begun the season in wonderful form for Wigan, scoring three and creating three as they've quickly acclimatised to life in the Championship.

Now, the 24-year old is being targeted by Brendan Rodgers' side, as well as a host of Championship clubs, as they all put their final touches to their squads.

Once upon a time, Powell was a £6m teenage prodigy with the world at his feet. His career may have faltered, but he now served his time in the Football League and he looks set for bigger and better things.

Would he be the right man for Celtic? Should he be aiming even higher himself?

Our panel of experts discuss whether Nick Powell would be a good signing for Celtic.

Jay Taylor

It would be a class signing.

He would seamlessly fit into the Scottish Premier League, as it is of a similar standard to the Championship.

Powell has been successful at Wigan but that could hit new heights if he becomes a fans’ favourite at Celtic Park.

It would be an interesting move and one that the player would probably find too hard to turn down.

George Dagless

He'd be a good signing.

Celtic need a bit of spark at the moment and Powell would bring that.

He'd certainly be a star for them if he moved there.

Sam Rourke

What a signing this'd be.

Powell is flourishing in the Championship already this season with Wigan, and it only seems a matter of time before he's playing football at a higher level.

Though, is the SPFL a higher level? Powell, in my eyes, should be playing regular first-team football in the Premier League.

A lot of lower end PL clubs would love to have the services of the attacking midfielder.

Gary Hutchinson

Without sounding harsh, I think he's better than the Scottish Premier League.

Powell has it all, creativity, goals and flair. He's only 24 and can still force his way into the England side.

Surely there's a top-flight team willing to take a punt on him?

He'd light up Huddersfield, Burnley or Bournemouth and the whole nation would benefit as a result.
