Wolves are closing in on a deal to sign Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe on loan for the rest of the season, according to Football Insider.

The 25-year-old has been an outcast in Eddie Howe's Cherries team and a move back to his former club Wolves looks like a genuine possibility now.

Is this a great signing for Nuno Santo's Wolves?

We discuss....

Sam Preston

This looks like the perfect deal for Wolves.

A loan deal, so no significant outlay, which provides competition and rotation for Leo Bonatini. That is what Wolves have been after all window and Afobe has enjoyed success at the club before.

An injury to Bonatini could maybe derail Wolves but the signing of Afobe would massively reduce those fears.

Chris Gallagher

What a signing this would be.

If Wolves finalise this deal then they're promoted.

He gives the pace, movement and goals that have sometimes been missing in recent weeks.

In this team, Afobe will score for fun.

George Dagless

He's a good player and one Wolves could do with.

They still look a little short up front despite Rafa Mir arriving and signing Afobe would help boost them.

He's got plenty of pace and power and knows the club so I think he'd be a real success.

Adam Simeoni

I’ve been saying for months that Wolves must try and add Afobe to their promotion chasing squad, and it appears my calls have finally been answered!

Santo needs another striker to provide depth and competition for the out of form Leo Bonatini, and what better player than Afobe that knows what it takes to win promotion at Molineux.

Fans will be delighted their former man is returning to the club to lead them to the glory of the Premier League.
