Chelsea's Tomas Kalas has joined Championship side Bristol City on loan as confirmed on the club website.

Kalas has been at Chelsea since 2010 but has made just two appearances for the club and now the 25-year-old Czech will continue his development with yet another loan stint, this time for Lee Johnson's side.

It is Kalas' sixth different temporary club after spending the previous two campaigns with Fulham.

So will Kalas prove a hit at Ashton Gate?

We discuss.....

Jay Williams

Kalas is an excellent signing and just what Bristol City needed.

With the Robins looking light in the central defensive area, Kalas arrives to provide proven quality in that department.

The Czech Republic international has twice won promotion from the Championship and is a top player at this level.

This is a real coup for Lee Johnson's men and Bristol City fans will be eager to see him in action.

Gary Hutchinson

Absolutely, what a signing this is.

Kalas is class, I never thought he’d wind up in the Championship.

He’ll certainly bring another dimension to the Robins defence.

Good business.

George Dagless

Very good.

He's a player of real quality at this level and will strengthen the Robins' side.

It came out of the blue but you have to applaud them for pulling it off as he'd have improved many teams.
