It has been an intriguing season for Sheffield Wednesday so far, who seem to have blown hot, then cold, then hot again.

Steven Fletcher and Barry Bannan have be key to the latest upturn in form, with both players being nominated for the PFA Player of the Month for September for their roles in helping Wednesday climb to eighth in the Championship.

The Scottish duo's plaudits are well deserved but one player whose contributions for the Owls should not be forgotten is Kadeem Harris.

Having seen his contract with Cardiff City expire in the summer, there were understood to have been a number of sides queueing up for the winger's signature.

The 26-year-old had been given few opportunities during the Bluebirds' short spell in the Premier League but had impressed in the Championship the season before, scoring four times and adding four assists.

It was the Owls who were successful in snapping him up and, amidst significant uncertainty due to the impending exit of Steve Bruce, large parts of the Hillsborough faithful were excited about the arrival of the 26-year-old.

So far, that excitement appears to have been completely warranted.

Harris made a fast start to the season, scoring and being named man of the match on debut as he helped the Owls to overcome Reading.

He has been ever-present in Wednesday's starting line up since, featuring in every Championship game and serving as a dangerous weapon for both Lee Bullen and now Garry Monk.

The 26-year-old has terrorised Championship defences with his speed, agility and direct style of play but may feel that he should have improved on his current tally of two goals and one assist.

Harris looks set to play an important role in Wednesday's season and you feel that if they're to qualify for the play-offs come May his performances could be key.

So far, the summer addition has certainly lived up to the billing.
