Phillip Cocu is set to complete his first signing as Derby County manager, with the Rams closing in on the loan signing of Everton playmaker Kieran Dowell.

Daily Telegraph writer John Percy claims that the 21-year-old had a medical with the club in Florida last night, as Derby beat Sarasota Metropolis by two goals to nil.

Dowell spent the second half of last season on loan with Sheffield United, scoring twice in 17 appearances and helping the Blades win automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The season before, the attacking midfielder enjoyed an impressive loan spell with the Rams' arch rivals Nottingham Forest, scoring 10 goals in a total of 43 appearances for the Reds.

The Everton youngster is now set to become Cocu's first signing at the helm of the Rams, with the club on the lookout to replace the likes of Harry Wilson and Mason Mount, who have returned to parent clubs Liverpool and Chelsea respectively.

Here, we take a look at Derby fans' reactions to this imminent arrival...
