Cast your minds back to 7th July 2016 Leeds United fans, as it was a day where you made an interesting signing, which at the time, you would have hoped would fire you into promotion contention.

It was announced that Kemar Roofe had signed along the dotted line at Leeds on a four-year-deal from Oxford United.

The club announced the signing on their Twitter page and there were high hopes for the forward when he arrived at Elland Road.

It's safe to say that Leeds supporters were delighted with the new arrival at the club.

Despite having a poor first season, where he netted just three league goals in 42 league appearances for the Whites, he finally settled down to life at Elland Road the following season.

Roofe wasted no time in hitting the ground running in the 2017/2018 season when he scored 14 goals in total for Leeds as they slipped away from the play-off race.

But the forward has already hit that goal tally this season, having scored 14 league goals in just 23 appearances for Marcelo Bielsa's side in this year's campaign.

Roofe's impressive start to the season has meant that Leeds are well in the hunt to make a long-awaited return to the Premier League.

The Whites are currently joint top of the Championship, with Norwich, and Bielsa will be hoping that Roofe can continue his rich run of form into the second-half of this season.

So it's safe to say that Roofe is certainly proving to live up to the expectations that were set of him, despite a slow start to life at Elland Road.

His goals could prove to be the deciding factor in which direction the Championship title goes in this season.

Roofe could be the hero that fires Leeds back into the Premier League after a lengthy absence from the top flight.
