One position that Darren Moore is still to strengthen on during the transfer window is up front.

Moore is well known to be eager to bring a new marksman to the club, but there has been little said about who he may be going for and for how much.

One player they are reportedly interested in is Maccabi Tel Aviv striker Vidar Orn Kjartansson, according to the Mirror's live blog (20/07/18, 20.18pm).

He scored 10 times in 20 appearances for Tel Aviv last season but first came to everyone's attention in 2013/14 when he scored 31 goals in 33 matches for Valerenga Oslo.

He accepted a move to China after that and continued his fine goalscoring form before moving to Maccabi Tel Aviv.

West Brom will apparently face competition from Middlesbrough and QPR for the striker's signature who are all interested in bringing the Icelandic forward in.

So will the Icelandic forward be a good signing?

We discuss....

West Brom could be searching for new strikers if Salomon Rondon and Jay Rodriguez depart.

But although Kjartansson has been prolific in Sweden and Israel over the past few years, it does not mean this form will translate into the Championship.

It would be a risky move at £3.5m and I am not sure if it would pay off.

George Dagless

West Brom should be looking to improve their first-team options.

They're in a better place than most in the division so I think they should be eyeing some more ambitious signings.

Louie Chandler

There is no guarantee that Kjartansson will bring his form from Israel to England and what the Baggies need is an experienced goalscorer

Already having been linked with moves to the likes of Middlesbrough and QPR, it would seem that Kjartansson is set for a move to the Championship this summer and what a signing it could be.

The Icelandic international, despite not being the youngest of players, still has bags of potential and has experience in some of the biggest footballing competitions.

The striker would be a terrific replacement to that of Rondon if he was to be sold this summer.
