Rotherham United face a battle for Championship survival, as they currently fill the last relegation spot with eight matches of the season remaining.

One bright spot for Millers manager Paul Warne though, has been the form of defender Semi Ajayi, but this form could come at a cost with a high chance of potential suitors should Rotherham be relegated.

Aston Villa could well be in the market for the 25-year-old Nigerian, especially if they are unable to secure loanee Kortney Hause past the end of the season.

So should Villa look to try to sign Ajayi?

We discuss.......

Gary Hutchinson

“What a signing he’d be.

“Gets forward, scores goals and has a real talent.

“He’d be a big signing for anyone at the top of the table.”

Alfie Burns

“I’m not 100% convinced.

“Hause is a player that is coming from a higher level than Villa are currently at, whilst Ajayi isn’t.

“For that reason, if Villa are going to be ambitious, you’d do everything to get Hause, who has settled well.”

Jacob Potter

"He should be their top priority.

"Without Ajayi, Rotherham would be relegated, it’s as simple as that.

"Villa could be the perfect destination for him, especially if Hause doesn’t re-sign for Dean Smith’s side.

"He could definitely make the step up to the Premier League as well."

Jay Taylor

“He has been sensational for Rotherham this term and is single-handily trying to keep them in the Championship.

“Strong, mobile and a rock at the back – Villa could do much worse than the 25-year-old.

“He has seven goals as a centre-back and can play in a variety of other positions – it could be a masterstroke of a signing.”
