Birmingham City earned their second victory of the week when they defeated Preston North End away from home on Saturday.
The Blues went one up thanks to youngster Riley McGree who netted after just two minutes in the fixture, Jayden Stockley equalised before substitute Gary Gardner came on and nodded home to give Birmingham all three points.
It was another important victory for Aitor Karanka’s side, as they slowly start to show the type of team they can be under the Spaniard, who took over from Pep Clotet in the summer.

And villa slate Gary Gardner. Been nothing but class for us. Great win to end the deepdale curse

The past few weeks is why I wasn't keen when those Gardner to Bournemouth rumours came up.
Has a role to play, albeit probably from the bench, and has already come up big in recent games. #bcfc

Gardner was unlucky not to start, given his performance and goal on Wednesday.
