Birmingham City drew 1-1 at home to Bristol City yesterday to continue Pep Clotet's bright start as manager.

The Spaniard has been tasked with bringing a new style of play to St. Andrew's and that was evident against the Robins, with Blues displaying some neat passages at times.

And, most of that came through recent signing Fran Villalba.

The former Valencia man started out wide left in what was a 4-4-1-1 formation for the hosts but he often drifted infield and caused major problems for the visitors as a result.

He tested Dan Bentley with a great early effort and was involved in most the good things Blues did, and his understanding with Dan Crowley was particularly eye-catching.

Given Blues have lacked a creative spark in recent years, it's fair to say the support are excited about what Villalba will bring to the team moving forward.
