Swansea City have confirmed the news that defender Ben Cabango has put pen to paper on a fresh two-year contract extension which will keep him at the Liberty Stadium until the summer of 2023.

Cabango has been a regular feature in Steve Cooper's side since making his league debut against Huddersfield back in November, with this outing seeing the 19-year-old become the first player born in the 21st century to represent the Swans in a league fixture.

The Wales Under-21 international has now made a total of 16 appearances for Swansea, with Cabango's impressive displays having seen him form a solid centre-back partnership with fellow academy graduate Joe Rodon over recent matches.

This means Cabango's performances have been keeping the likes of Ben Wilmot and Marc Guehi out of the starting line-up, and the defender has now been rewarded for his efforts by signing a new contract with his previous deal having been set to expire in 2021.

Swansea took to Twitter on Wednesday evening to share news of Cabango's new deal;
