Birmingham City have got off to a reasonably solid start to the Championship season under Pep Clotet, with the Blues taking 22 points from their opening 16 matches, to give them hopes of mounting a potential play-off push.

The last time that Birmingham reached the play-offs in the English second tier and managed to earn promotion to the top flight from them was during the 2001/02 season, and one key player in that side was Stan Lazaridis who made 32 appearances that season, and caused plenty of problems for opponents down the left hand side of the pitch.

Lazaridis was a hugely influential figure during his seven-year spell at St Andrews, where he went on to make over 190 appearances for the club, producing many stand out moments and offering the flexibility of being able to play as both a left-winger and a left-back - and many Blues' supporters have been debating on Facebook whether they feel he deserves legendary status at the club.

Here, we take a look at a selection of comments from Birmingham supporters on whether they feel that Lazaridis can be regarded as a Blues legend, via social media.

Roger Taft: "Oh yes have a great deal of time for him. Loved to see him flying up the wing with ball. Always felt something good would happen."

Lee Hartford: "Fav winger, great player, superb crosser, worked hard too tracking back, decent with head too, especially at Villa Park lol."

Steve Morgan: "Class player old stan."

Marcus Cope: "Decent in the championship, excellent in the prem, I'm a bit tight on legends though."

Darren Fleetwood: "Remember the Fulham game when we were winding Collymore up and our Stanley scored a cracker."

Steve Harvey: "Stan the man"

Alan Fowler: "What a player he was, absolutely adored by the fans, I have never heard a bad word about him, when he was on a run with the ball no one stayed seated, like I said what a player."
