QPR secured their first clean sheet of the season on Saturday afternoon as they sealed an impressive 2-0 victory over Preston courtesy of Eberechi Eze's brace.

The attacking midfielder gave Mark Warburton's side the lead in the first half before he converted from the spot in the second period, while the Rs' back line also produced a solid performance to keep out the Lilywhites' attack.

QPR have been held back by the fact they have the second-worst defensive record in the league this campaign, with Warburton alternating between Joe Lumley and Liam Kelly in goal, but it was Lumley who kept the clean sheet against Preston on Saturday.

The goalkeeper has received plenty of criticism from sections of QPR supporters for some of his displays this term, but he offered an assured presence in between the sticks against Alex Neil's side by producing some excellent saves during the match.

Plenty of QPR supporters took to Twitter after the match to applaud Lumley's strong display, while some suggested he had silenced his critics by helping his side record their first clean sheet of the campaign.
