Two promotion contenders and divisional heavyweights went head-to-head in League One at the weekend, as Ipswich Town played host to Sunderland at Portman Road.

Arguably two of the biggest clubs in the league did battle in Suffolk on Saturday afternoon, both looking to pick up an invaluable three points at such an early stage of the season.

Paul Lambert's side were looking to build on what was an impressive opening day win against Burton Albion last week, and the same goalscorer that day, Luke Garbutt, opened the scoring for the Tractor Boys against the Black Cats after 15 minutes.

Another slow start from Sunderland, who conceded early on against Oxford United last weekend, and Jack Ross' side had to come from behind once again if they were to pick up any points.

But, another opening day goalscorer salvaged another point for Ross' side - Lynden Gooch levelling for the visitors after 64 minutes.
