Plenty of Ipswich Town fans have taken to social media to react to the news that manager Paul Lambert has signed a new long-term contract extension at the club.
Lambert had 18 months remaining on his existing contract at Portman Road, but the club have confirmed that he has now signed a four-year extension, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2025.
The 50-year-old took charge of Ipswich in October 2018, replacing Paul Hurst who was sacked, but he was unable to save the Tractor Boys from relegation from the Championship last season.
Ipswich have made a promising start to the current season in League One though, although a poor run of results over the past few weeks has seen the team fall out of the automatic promotion places.
Plenty of Ipswich fans took to social media to react to the news that Lambert has signed a new deal and it is fair to say that the announcement caused a mixed reaction from Town supporters on Twitter.
Some Ipswich fans were quick to question the decision, while others admitted that they are pleased that Lambert has committed is future to the club and urged other supporters to get behind their manager.

This bloke is the master spin doctor! Last week he didn’t know if he was coming or going! Today he gets a pay rise and further job security for doing a terrible job. Genius 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻

Wow how bizarre didnt see that coming. ME obviously wanted him to stay, maybe his outburst prompted it, let's hope it settles the team in more ways than one! Coyb!

Remind me what PL has done to warrant a new contract, this simply doesn’t make any sense at this time?

We have to look at this as a positive. We all know PL is capable of getting us where we should be. What he’s done for the club, for the young fans, the committed fans and the loyal fans has been nothing short of amazing. I’m glad he’s committed himself to our club 💙
