Sky Bet League One side Charlton Athletic have confirmed that manager Lee Bowyer will serve a three-game touchline ban, after being sent off against AFC Wimbledon last weekend.

The 42-year-old was dismissed from his technical area by referee Chris Kavanagh in the 46th minute of the match, following a robust challenge on Charlton defender Chris Solly.

And the former Birmingham City and Newcastle United manager has recently been punished for his actions, having been fined £1,750 and being given a three-game touchline ban for using abusive and/or insulting language towards Kavanagh.

The manager will be absent from the touchline in what is a crucial stage of the season for the Addicks, as they prepare to face promotion rivals Doncaster Rovers, Portsmouth as well as Burton Albion in the next few weeks, as the London club look to ramp up their promotion push.
