The news of Darren Randolph's injury was a bitter blow for Middlesbrough supporters, but that's nothing compared to the latest development.

The Boro stopper had been ruled out with a thigh strain with the goalkeeper one of nine players set to miss Saturday's trip to face Queens Park Rangers.

Speaking about his injury, as quoted by Teesside Live, Woodgate said: "Darren's got a thigh strain, I'm not sure how long he'll be out for.

“I'm not sure how long he'll be. He might not make the (next) Ireland game, he might not make next week, I don't know how long he will be, we'll have to go through the scans in more detail."

However it seems like an early return is on the cards.

An early return from injury could be great news for Middlesbrough fans, however some have been left a little bit confused after hearing that the 32-year-old is set to join up with the Republic Of Ireland squad next week.

With a degree of confusion surrounding the Middlesbrough fanbase, supporters have been taking to social media to discuss the goalkeeper's fitness.

Here's what they had to say.
