Barry Douglas is just nine games away from promotion with Leeds United, with the Scot looking to match the feat he managed with Wolverhampton Wanderers during the 2017/18 campaign.

Leeds swooped to sign Douglas from Wolves on the back of his title-winning campaign at Molineux in 2017/18, when the 30-year-old was so impressive for Nuno Espirito Santo.

In total, Douglas managed five goals and a whopping 14 assists in Old Gold, as Wolves stomped to the title and left the Championship in their wake.

Today marks two years since Nuno’s side paraded the trophy around Wolverhampton, with Douglas taking to Instagram to issue a series of images from that day along with a caption:

After Leeds finished third and crashed out of the play-offs in his first year at Elland Road, Douglas is hoping to add another Championship winners’ medal to his collection this season.

Leeds sit top of the pile in the Championship with nine games of the season remaining, but the campaign is on hold and a ball hasn’t been kicked in the division since the first weekend of March as public safety takes priority.

The Verdict

Douglas’ year at Wolves was a memorable one, with the side Nuno built perhaps the best we’ve seen at this level of football.

Wolves tore the Championship to pieces and Douglas was a massive part of that.

And, when they celebrated, it was quite the picture, with fans flooding out to support the side in a way they deserved.

Douglas loves reliving those memories and will hope to make more like that in Leeds colours.
