Huddersfield Town continue to search for a new permanent manager, a task that needs a swift resolution with the Terriers currently in 23rd place in the Championship with only a single point to show for five rounds of league fixtures, ahead of the weekend trip to Luton Town.

Currently leading the betting to be the next Huddersfield boss is Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer, whose side have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season and currently sit in third spot, just two points behind early pace-setters Leeds United and Swansea City.

So would Bowyer be a good appointment at the John Smith's Stadium?

We discuss.......

Josh Cole

“This would be a shrewd appointment by Huddersfield if they can pull it off.”

“Since taking over the reins at Charlton Athletic last year, Lee Bowyer has completely transformed their fortunes as before he arrived, it is fair to say that the club were in disarray.

“After leading the Addicks to promotion via the play-offs last season, the 42-year-old has overseen an encouraging start to the current campaign in the Championship with his side currently third in the league standings.”

“With Huddersfield needing a manager who can get the very best out of their players, targeting Bowyer would make perfect sense as he has a superb recent track-record of nurturing talent.”

Louie Chandler

"What a coup this'd be.

"I personally rank Bowyer as the most exciting English managers in football at the moment and would be an exceptional appointment.

"The work he has done at Charlton has been outstanding and continues to impress despite the ensuing off-field problems.

"It would be a huge blow to the Addicks if he were to leave, but it should at least give Huddersfield fans confidence that their board are looking in the right places."

Dean Cooke

"He'd be a superb appointment, it would be excellent if Huddersfield were able to take him from another Championship club, and perhaps fingers would start to point at the Charlton owner once more.

"Bowyer has been very good since he came in and he must be one of the most sought after managers in the division at this current moment.

"He has proven that he could spend well with a low budget, whilst at the same time he's guided Charlton to a play-off final victory and they now sit 3rd in the Championship. If I were a Huddersfield supporter, he'd be my first choice."
