Luton Town are apparently leading the race to sign Scotland international Graeme Shinnie, according to a report on the Express.

The 27-year-old is out of contract at Pittodrie this summer and despite interest from Rangers, has been linked with a move to Kenilworth Road.

The Hatters are currently top of League One and look certain to be promoted to the Championship, as well as being the club his brother Andrew currently plays for.

This comes after another League One side, Sunderland, were linked with a move for him in January.

The midfielder, who can also operate at left back, appears to have snubbed Steven Gerrard's side and looks likely to do the same to Jack Ross in order to join the ambitious Hatters.

Is it a wise choice by the former Scottish Cup winner? Our FLW panel discuss.

George Harbey

"I think Luton would be a perfect move for him.

"He’ll know all about what a good club it is after his brother played there.

"Their style of play would suit his position to a tee, and he’d be a good versatile option for the Hatters."

Jay Taylor

“What a coup this'd be.

“Luton are a team on the up and should be an attractive proposition for future transfers.

“A new stadium is on the horizon with the prospect of Championship football next season.

“If I were Shinnie, Kenilworth Road would be an extremely tempting move.”

Jacob Potter

"It would be a gamble on his part.

"Luton are hardly as reputable as Sunderland or Rangers are they?

"Although Shinnie could be tempted by a move to Luton as they could be in the Championship by the end of this season.

"I think he should remain patient for now and see if a bid materialises."
