Preston midfielder Ben Pringle has agreed to join Tranmere Rovers on loan until the end of the season, after his season-long loan at Grimsby Town was terminated, after a deal was agreed to allow him to sign for another club, it has been confirmed on the Tranmere club website.

The 29-year-old midfielder had made 18 appearances for the Mariners this season in all competitions.

So is Pringle a good signing for Tranmere?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

“Absolutely.

“Tranmere have flapped a bit in recent weeks, but the League Two play off race still has them firmly in it and Pringle will only benefit them.

“There’s a lot of football to be played and he’ll be able to learn from James Norwood and vice versa.”

Jacob Potter

"What a coup this is.

"Pringle could arguably be playing at Championship level, but he’s made a bold move in moving to a League Two club.

"He’ll provide Tranmere with the creative spark they need going forward, and is one of the signings of the season in League Two – no doubt about it."

Jay Taylor

“What a signing.

“He was always a go-to guy on Football manager and is a hell of a coup for Tranmere.

“I was always disappointed he was unable to make it one step further up the chain, but such is life.

“Tranmere have finalised a sensational bit of business here – and it could end up with the sealing promotion, that is now good a deal I think it is.”
