The announcement of the departure of Swansea striker Borja Baston, who will join Alaves on a season long loan deal, has been greeted with mixed emotions from the Swansea City faithful.

In a statement on the Swansea City website, the club stated that the 25-year-old forward will join the La Liga side this summer on loan, subject to international clearance.

Borja, who was relegated during his loan spell at fellow Spanish side Malaga, made 20 appearances during the disappointing season, scoring just two goals.

Borja joined Swansea City in the summer of 2016 from Atletico Madrid, and since has made 18 appearances for the club, scoring just one goal, which came in a 3-2 defeat to Arsenal under then manager Bob Bradley.

While Borja was never a regular at the Liberty Stadium, the fans unrest seems to be aimed at the scale of transfer outbound from Swansea, and lack of incoming talent.

Here is a look at how the Swansea fans reacted to the news on Twitter.
