Blackpool have made Reading right-back Teddy Howe their latest signing, which has been well received by fans of the North West club.

The Tangerines announced earlier today that they had signed Howe from Reading on a permanent deal.

The 21-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with his new club, which includes the option for a 12-month extension.

It is understood that Blackpool were impressed by Howe during their FA Cup ties with Reading earlier this month.

Howe has made six appearances for the Royals senior side but has spent the majority of his career at the club with the age-group sides.

The defender will wear the number two for Simon Grayson's side and go straight into the squad to face Oxford United tomorrow.

Blackpool were in the mix for the play-offs earlier this season but they have now won since early December–a run that has seen then slip down into 15th.

Speaking to the club website, Tangerines boss Simon Grayson revealed what he felt Howe brought to his squad.

He said: "He’s full of enthusiasm, energy and drive and we’re looking forward to working with him. He’s another player who offers different qualities to what we have here already."
