Millwall will be hoping they can improve on a disappointing league campaign under Neil Harris' guidance last season when the Championship season gets underway this weekend.

The Lions finished 21st in the league table last term, and have made a number of signings ahead of their season opener against Preston North End on Saturday.

The so-called 'deadwood' has also been moved on, which will be pleasing to see for supporters of the club.

So, with all things considered, how do we expect Millwall to do in the Championship this season?

Football League World's Millwall fan pundit, Lucas Ball has issued his thoughts ahead of the upcoming league campaign.

How would you sum-up Millwall's transfer business so far this summer?

"Excellent - I think we've strengthened key areas and Harris has delivered on his overhaul promise. I expect this season to be more comfortable, particularly if the likes of Connor Mahoney can hit form at the right time. I'm very happy."

One rival team in the league you expect to do well this season?

"As much as I hate to say it, I expect Leeds to be in and around the play-offs again. They could do with a couple more signings and have to keep hold of Phillips for that to happen, but Bielsa will get the best out of that group."

One Millwall player that we should be looking out for?

"Connor Mahoney. He looks a steal at around £1m from AFC Bournemouth. He's a quality dribbler, quick, a great crosser of the ball, skillful and has an eye for goal.

"He can also take set pieces with both feet, which is a dangerous tool with the likes of Jake Cooper and Matt Smith in the penalty area."

Are there any young players that you expect to see challenging for a first-team spot?

"Possibly Junior Tiensia, as we don't have currently have a natural left-back. He looks like a bright prospect and was chased by some of the top-six when he was 14-years-old."

How do you expect Millwall to do in the Championship this season?

"I think we'll finish somewhere between 14th and 18th this season, which I'd be very happy with."
