West Ham have rejected multiple loan bids from Championship clubs for Declan Rice, according to reports in the Football Insider

Declan Rice has established himself as one of England's biggest defensive prospects, after enjoying a breakthrough season with the Hammers on his way to becoming a favourite under David Moyes.

His 16 appearances so far this season have just gone to highlight the promise of the defender, with him already believed to be at a Premier League level at the minor age of 18-years-old.

Indeed, with Sunderland apparently one of the clubs interested in bringing the youngster to the Championship, West Ham have asserted their authority in stating that the defender will not leave the Olympic Stadium on loan.

With speculation of a new contract being readied for the youngster, David Moyes is keen to put him to good use in the Premier League, after an impressive display against Tottenham last time out.

Nevertheless, it looks as if a whole host of Championship clubs are set to miss out securing the services of the youngster, a player who looks like his near future lies with the Hammers.

The verdict

Would have been an outstanding signing for any Championship club.

Understandably, West Ham are reluctant to see him head out on loan. Meaning that this is no longer a possibility for Championship sides.

A player who has a bright future, but only in Premier League football.
