West Ham are interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder Idrissa Gueye, according to the Sun via the Daily Star.
The Senegalese midfielder joined from French side Lille last summer for £9m as Villa spent big on players.
But the West Midlands side had a dreadful season as they finished rock bottom of the Premier League, with just 17 points and three league wins.
Villa parted company with three managers last season, which was one of the worst campaigns in the history of the club.
Gueye scored just once in 38 games last season, his goal coming in an FA Cup replay win over Wycombe Wanderers. In his time in France he played in over 100 games for Lille.
The Villains have appointed former Champions League winning manager Roberto Di Matteo ahead of this season as they aim to return to the Premier League.
