West Ham United midfielder Josh Cullen is reportedly set to join League One Charlton Athletic on loan until January, according to Football Insider.

Cullen has spent the last two seasons on loan at Bradford City and Bolton Wanderers.

He made 12 appearances for Wanderers last season during his spell in the first-half of the season, before returning the Hammers where he made two substitute appearances in the Premier League against Southampton and Chelsea.

Whilst at Bradford, the 22-year-old shone, making 40 appearances for the Bantams scoring once and assisting on numerous occasions.

He also featured heavily during their run to the play-off final, which ended in heartbreak against Millwall at Wembley in 2017.

Lee Bowyer is keen to strengthen his squad before the loan window shuts with a move for Leeds United midfielder Eunan O'Kane also reported earlier in the month.

The Verdict

This would be a very good signing for Lee Bowyer and Charlton.

Cullen proved with Bradford just how good he can be in the third-tier, and I would be very surprised if he did not replicate that form.

He seems like he would be a better option that O'Kane as well.

Cullen offers far more in an attacking sense than the Leeds man and would aid the way Charlton play far more.
