West Ham United boss David Moyes is lining up a move for Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney, according to reports on Sky Sports.
The Hammers are interested in tying up a deal in the region of £15 million for the Scottish international, but Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic is likely to resist any bids that come in for the player in the coming days.
The 27-year-old was in inspired form last season, notching an incredible thirteen goals and ten assists from the middle of the park, with his displays seeing the Cottagers turn down a reported £20 million bid from Newcastle in the summer.
Cairney’s form has somewhat curtailed this season, with the player providing just a single goal and three assists, although his year has been hampered by injury.
West Ham are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements, and Moyes has identified the player as the man he needs to see the Hammers climb towards the top half of the Premier League table.
Cairney is a quality player with bags of ability, and certainly looks good enough to play in the top flight in the near future.
However with Fulham chasing a playoff spot, it appears unlikely Jokanovic and the Fulham board will sanction a deal this month.
