West Ham are plotting a move for QPR attacking midfielder Ebere Eze, though any move at the moment has been put on hold, as per Football Insider.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a sensational campaign so far in the Sky Bet Championship, notching 12 goals and eight assists as Mark Warburton's side sit in 13th position.

Crystal Palace are also keen on a move for the Greenwich-born midfielder, but could face being gazumped by West Ham once again after they were beaten to the signing of Jarrod Bowen in January by the Hammers.

The 5ft 8 midfielder enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season for the R's and is now one of the second tier's most prized assets, with him continuing his stellar form from last season onto this season.

Eze's contract at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium runs out in the summer of 2021, and it's likely that QPR will receive offers for the talented player.

The verdict

There is no denying that Ebere Eze would be a top signing for a team like West Ham.

At the age of just 21, Eze has showcased his superb ability in the Championship, consistently delivering high-level performances on a weekly basis.

The R's will not want to lose the player, but it feels almost inevitable given the impressive trajectory of his career thus far.

You do have to consider though, would Eze be a guaranteed starter at the London Stadium? There is a plethora of attacking talent at the east London club at present, so there is seemingly no immediate pathway to the starting XI.
