According to the Mirror, Robert Snodgrass is unlikely to drop back into the Sky Bet Championship this summer, despite interest from the second-tier in the out-of-favour West Ham United winger.

Snodgrass only arrived in East London during the January transfer window, costing West Ham a reported £10m from Hull City. However, the Hammers are keen to offload the Scottish international after an indifferent start to his career at the Olympic Stadium.

Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday are all keen on Snodgrass, 29, but the West Ham man is unwilling to drop back into the Championship, where he has spent the majority of his career.

Snodgrass spent time in the Football League with Leeds United between 2008 and 2012, before sealing a move to Norwich City, who were then playing in the Premier League.

After two years in the top-flight with the Canaries, Snodgrass left Carrow Road following their relegation from the Premier League, signing for Hull, where he missed almost the entire 2014/15 campaign through injury, as the Tigers slipped back into the Championship.

The following year, Snodgrass was influential during the second-half of the season for Hull, helping them to promotion back to the top-flight.

Having moved to West Ham less than six months ago, Snodgrass appears to be available for transfer this summer, after making just eight starts for the Hammers since his arrival.

As well as Championship interest in the winger, Premier League clubs are also monitoring Snodgrass’ situation, including newly promoted Brighton and Hove Albion.
