MK Dons teammate Conor Coventry has praised Troy Parrott’s resurgence in form.

Coventry, on loan this season from West Ham, has singled out Parrott’s performances in recent weeks as a sign of things to come from the Ireland forward.

Parrott himself is on loan at MK Dons from Tottenham Hotspur for this campaign.

The forward has struggled at times with life in League One, but has found his footing in recent weeks.

Coventry has praised Parrott’s form and believes his quality is obvious to see.

“Troy is class. Obviously, I played with him before so I know his quality,” said Coventry, via Milton Keynes Citizen

“I’m not surprised by how good he is. The way he’s been working for the team has been incredible, and it shows that he is still developing and learning.

“He’s a quality player and I’m just happy to play with him every week.”

Parrott has featured consistently for MK Dons this season, appearing 34 times in the league.

The 20-year old has scored five goals and assisted six with Liam Manning’s side third in the table.

Parrott is currently on international duty with the Ireland team, where he featured as a late substitute in a friendly against Belgium, which finished 2-2 at Lansdowne Road.

MK Dons return to action this weekend as they face Shrewsbury Town on April 2.

The Verdict

There has been a lot of hype around Parrott in recent years, but it is easy to forget that he is still only 20-years old.

The forward still has a lot to learn about playing at senior level and this loan move has worked out well for him so far.

These final weeks of the season will be a great chance for Parrott to leave a lasting impression on this MK Dons side as they chase promotion.

If Parrott’s goals can help send MK Dons to the Championship then it could even catch the attention of Antonio Conte at Spurs.
