A trio of clubs are chasing Birmingham City winger Viv Solomon-Otabor this summer, according to All Nigeria Soccer.

Championship duo Leeds United and Derby County are ready to battle it out for Solomon-Otabor, who has been on loan at Blackpool this season.

But the exciting wide man has also attracted interest from the Premier League, with West Ham United considering a swoop as well.

The 22-year-old is impressing on loan at Blackpool this season, having scored five goals and added four assists in his 41 matches for the Tangerines after choosing to join them ahead of Charlton Athletic and Bolton Wanderers.

The Birmingham academy graduate has been highly rated by the Blues but he has never really broken into the first team on a regular basis.

Solomon-Otabor has played 30 games in total for the West Midlands side, but only five have been starts and he has only started two Championship games for Birmingham in his career.

Having spent spells on loan at Oxford United, Bolton Wanderers and now Blackpool, his future at St Andrew's is unclear, especially given the recent reported interest from West Ham, Leeds and Derby.

Solomon-Otabor has one year left on his contract after this season.

The Verdict

Solomon-Otabor may have impressed for Blackpool this year but he is still an unproven quantity at Championship level. Leeds and Derby would be taking risks if they signed him to make an immediate impact and it would be a strange decision for West Ham to sign him. At the age of 22, would he really be ready to jump up two divisions?
