Middlesbrough could be set for a busy January as interest in a number of their stars begins to mount.

A number of players are out of contract at the end of the season, and with little sign of progress in negotiations the Teessiders may be fielding calls for some of those men.

However it's one of Jonathan Woodgate's star performers who is taking the headlines at the moment.

Reports over the weekend have suggested that West Ham have made contact with the Championship about goalkeeper Darren Randolph.

The 32-year-old is regarded as one of the best stoppers in the second tier, and according to 90min.com, he's a player who could be on the move in January.

Randolph's likely desire to play in the Premier League will no doubt be a consideration in Middlesbrough accepting a deal, but according to a new update, it may be a bit more urgent than that.

How much attention have you paid to Middlesbrough this season? Let's find out!

Teamtalk have reported that the Teessiders are under pressure to sell players in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

While this is not great for Middlesbrough, it could be a welcome boost for West Ham as they pursue a potential bargain deal.

The verdict

It's no surprise that Darren Randolph is attracting interest.

The goalkeeper is regarded as one of Middlesbrough's best players, and given their current position in the Championship it's hard to argue that the 32-year-old should be playing at a higher level.

The focus for the Teessiders will now be on getting a good deal for the player.
