West Ham United are willing to allow Conor Coventry to leave the club on loan this month, according to Football Insider.

Reports from Football Insider revealed over the weekend that newly-promoted Peterborough United were interested in a move for the midfielder as they look to strengthen their side ahead of the new campaign.

The 21-year-old is a product of the West Ham's youth academy and has made quite an impression in pre-season which had left David Moyes pondering whether the player could be ready for first team future with the Premier League club.

However it seems that a loan move away could now be on the cards.

With Peterborough there would be a real opportunity to make an impression at Championship level.

Coventry is a player of real technical quality and looks very much ready to enjoy a full season of competitive football in the second tier.

Life under Darren Ferguson would certainly be a baptism of fire as the Posh look to fine-tune their squad ahead of the new campaign, but the 21-year-old certainly has the quality to make an impression for Peterborough or anybody else who enters the race.

The verdict

This is great news for Peterborough United.

Conor Coventry is an outstanding talent who looks very much ready to make a big statement in the professional game.

While he's inexperienced at senior level, the 21-year-old has already proven that he has what it takes to thrive at first team level after forcing his way into David Moyes' plans last term.

However with regular first team football unlikely with West Ham a loan move certainly seems to make sense.
