West Ham eyeing Sunderland star as we head towards January window

According to the Mirror, West Ham are looking into signing Sunderland man Lamine Kone in the January window.

The centre-half is a good player and can play at Premier League level which is why Sunderland fans are very frustrated with the way he has seemingly downed tools in their recent struggles.

For sure, many would probably not miss him that much if he went and most will just hope that the club can cash in as much as possible on the defender.

There have been 534 goals scored in the 199 Premier League matches played so far this season. That, dear friends, is an average of 2.68 per game. This is one of the reasons we have selected a bumper +1.5 goals coupon with excellent LeoVegas odds for this Saturday. It appears, then, that they might be able to do that, too, with West Ham possessing a decent amount of cash as they look to pull away from the bottom three in the Premier League under David Moyes.

Moyes, of course, knows Kone from last season’s woeful spell at the Stadium of Light and so the player himself might be tempted to link up once more.

He’ll probably have offers from elsewhere in the Premier League as well, though, and so whilst we wait to see what happens there, Sunderland need to try and work it to their advantage and get as much money as they can for him.

The Verdict

Kone has not been a professional for Sunderland at times and it is best that he moves on.

Whether or not the Black Cats can reinvest the money they get for him in the window will be the main question for the Wearsiders.
