Crystal Palace, West Ham United, and Everton are reportedly keen on a move for Leeds United winger Jack Clarke in January if Tottenham Hotspur recall him from his loan.

After an impressive 2018/19 campaign for Leeds, the 18-year-old joined Spurs for a reported fee of £10 million in the summer and was sent back to Elland Road on a season-long loan.

However, the Whites took six players on loan and EFL guidelines state only five are allowed in a matchday squad, which has so far meant Clarke has missed out.

Is this the WORST Leeds United XI from the last 15 years? We'll let YOU decide....

The teenager has not featured in the Championship once this season, with his only appearances coming in the Carabao Cup.

According to the Express, Spurs are not happy about his lack of playing time and are set to recall him in January, with a number of Premier League teams interested in taking him on loan.

The report suggests that the North London club would look to send the winger out on loan again, and that Palace and West Ham are both monitoring Clarke’s situation at Leeds closely, while the Toffees are also key keen on a move for him.

The 18-year-old broke through into the Whites first-team last season, making 25 appearances, and was regularly used as an impact sub, with Marcelo Bielsa throwing him on to add attacking impetus.

The Verdict

At this rate, it seems very likely that Clarke will leave Elland Road in January.

He showed real flashes of brilliance for the Whites last season but I would question whether he is ready for the Premier League yet.

The EFL rule has been integral to his lack of opportunities, however, if the 18-year-old was good enough he’d surely be in that Leeds side in place of fellow on-loan winger Jack Harrison.

He is certainly deserving of a first-team spot in the Championship but I’m not sure how much he will offer to the top-flight trio rumoured to be interested.
