West Ham have completed the signing of Jarrod Bowen from Hull City for an undisclosed fee, the Premier League side have confirmed.

Bowen, who scored 54 goals in 131 appearances in all competitions for the Tigers after making his debut for the club in 2016, is now set to make the step up to the Premier League after agreeing a long term deal with the Hammers.

The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-and0and-a-half-year deal, which is set to keep him at the London Stadium until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Although the fee is undisclosed, it has been reported that the Hammers have agreed to pay Hull worth around £22million for their talisman, with £14million paid upfront, with the Tigers potentially set to receive up to £8million in addons from the deal further down the line.

Despite the length of his contract, it has been suggested that one delay in the potential move has been caused by Bowen's insistence on the addition of a relegation release clause in his contract with the Hammers.

West Ham are currently 17th in the Premier League, only outside the relegation zone on goal difference, while Bowen leaves Hull with the club 14th in the Championship, eight points adrift of the play-offs.

The Verdict

What a signing this looks to be for West Ham.

Bowen has been prolific for Hull throughout his time at the club, and you certainly feel that he is now ready to make that step up to the Premier League.

Indeed, given the precarious position they currently find themselves in, finally securing this deal ought to be a big relief for West Ham, considering what Bowen looks set to offer them.

For Hull however, this will inevitably be a big loss, and there will now be plenty of pressure on new signing Marcus Maddison to fill this void, which looks likely to be an intriguing storyline in the final few months of the Championship season.
