According to The Northern Echo, West Ham United could complete the signing of Adama Traore this week.

Adama Traore is one of the top targets for the Hammers this summer as they aim to add some genuine pace out wide.

Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore certainly offers pace in the wide areas and West Ham are targeting him.

The Northern Echo believe that West Ham United could wrap up an £8m deal for Adama Traore this week.

Middlesbrough only signed Traore from Aston Villa last summer but are prepared to offload him to raise funds for a squad revamp.

The 21-year-old has now been relegated twice in two seasons in the Premier League since making his switch from Barcelona in summer 2015.

During that time, he has also shown very little end product, racking up just one assist and no goals during his entire season with Boro.

With Robert Snodgrass set to leave West Ham, Slaven Bilic is looking for a different profile on the wing and Adama Traore would bring skill, flair and pace to the flanks.

However, the former Spain youth international will need to improve his goal and assist tally to justify the reported price tag.

Middlesbrough are also prepared to sell Marten de Roon and Gaston Ramirez this summer to raise funds for their own transfer activity.
