West Bromwich Albion are looking to bolster their attacking options following relegation from the Premier League with a move for Bristol City striker Bobby Reid, Sky Sports are reporting.
News has emerged in the last few hours, courtesy of sources close to Sky, that a £7 million bid has been placed for the talented striker who netted 21 goals in all competitions last season for the Robins.
The departure of a player capable of scoring a vast amount of goals would be a major blow to Lee Johnson as he looks to build a side capable of achieving higher than the 11th placed finish accomplished last season.
Reid would enhance the Baggies’ chances of an instant return to the top flight given his prolific nature and ability to score goals in the second tier and it now remains to be seen whether or not a deal can be thrashed out between the two clubs.
Bobby Reid is destined for a bright career in football and his knack of scoring important goals is obviously a big factor in West Brom seeking out this deal.
Reid was in scintillating form last season for the Robins and it isn’t really a surprise that he is attracting interest from bigger clubs.
Lee Johnson will be desperate to keep hold of his prized asset but given the size of West Brom he might be powerless in preventing Reid’s departure.
