West Bromwich Albion striker, Victor Anichebe, has rejected a loan move to Sky Bet Championship side, Bolton Wanderers, according to Winner Sports.
27-year-old Anichebe has found his first-team opportunities with the Baggies limited this season, largely down to the arrival of record signing, Salomon Rondon, at the Hawthorns this summer.
The Everton youth academy graduate made 131 appearances on Merseyside, finding the net 18 times, before moving to the West Midlands in 2013, where he has had 46 outings, scoring six times.
The Nigeria international has never played outside of the Premier League, and Bolton Wanderers loan move seemed an optimistic one.
Trotters’ boss, Neil Lennon, is rightfully looking to strengthen his squad who sit just a point and place above the relegation zone, and have only won once this campaign, unsurprising as they have only scored four league goals all season.
Bolton host top of the table Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday, and it is unlikely that should Lennon have another loan offer accepted, that Anichebe will arrive at the Macron Stadium in time for Saturday’s clash.
Bolton Wanderers fans….. What do you make of this news? Would you like to have seen Anichebe at the Macron Stadium this season? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
