West Bromwich Albion are interested in making a potential move for Queens Park Rangers winger Bright Osayi-Samuel, but the 22-year-old is thought not to be a priority for the Baggies at this stage, according to Birmingham Live.

The Baggies have been looking for extra attacking reinforcements throughout the transfer window, with Slaven Bilic’s side having been linked with a move for Dinamo Zagreb attacker Mislav Orsic, while they have also secured the loan signing of Sheffield United’s Callum Robinson.

Osayi-Samuel has been in good form for QPR so far this campaign, having scored four and assisted four goals in 21 Championship appearances - and the 22-year-old could be a good option for Slaven Bilic’s side to provide extra cover for the likes of Grady Diangana, Matt Phillips and Matheus Pereira.

Can you name these 13 West Brom January signings?

It is thought though, that the Baggies will not be prioritising a move for the winger in the last few days of the transfer window, but they could elect to turn to Osayi-Samuel were they to miss out on some of their other targets before the window shuts.

The verdict

This would be a useful addition for the Baggies to make before the end of the transfer window, with Bilic’s needing to add to the addition of Robinson so that they can start to recover from their recent dip in form which has seen their top place look less and less secure.

Osayi-Samuel has been in excellent form throughout the campaign, with his pace and trickery invaluable assets for QPR as they look to make progress under Mark Warburton, and it is little surprise to see the 22-year-old attracting the interest of other sides.

The winger would arrive at the Hawthorns full of confidence given his recent form, and he crucially offers proven Championship experience and pedigree, which means that he would not need time to adjust to a new division were he to arrive.

Considering there are other clubs interested in the winger, though, West Brom might need to alter their stance and really try and make a move for him, or they could run the risk of missing out on the 22-year-old before the window closes.
